Palliative care is delivered by an interprofessional team. What role will each of the following professionals play in P.C.'s care?

What will be an ideal response?

Pharmacist: Advises on medications, teaches how to take the medications and what to do if there
are side effects, helps set up medication schedules, and provides ongoing monitoring of all
medications.

diet supplements, and helps with such symptoms as problems swallowing, poor appetite, nausea,

helps by setting up family meetings to discuss goals, making referrals to community services, and
helping cope with loss and grief.

ritual, networks with community faith groups, and support in the planning of memorial or funeral
services.
Physical Therapist: Helps with positioning, including reducing pressure on sensitive areas; assists
with pain relief, including transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS), heat and cold, and
