What are the effective components of instructional practices for students with ASD?

What will be an ideal response?

Instruction for students with ASD should be systematic, intensive, follow a specific instructional format, promote generalization, and it should include appropriate modifications and accommodations (Carnahan, Williamson,&Christman, 2011; Iovannone, Dunlap, Huber, & Kincaid, 2003). Also, students with ASD have difficulty understanding and remembering lengthy verbal instructions.Keep verbal instructions brief, and consider pairing verbal instructions with visual supports as well.Keep use of language simple and concrete. Most importantly, make sure the work environment is organized.
