Possible answers: Think of the issues surrounding a college campus: 1) binge drinking may have deleterious effects. That is, those that engage in binge drinking, particularly those that do it often, may have difficulties in class, may have more conflict with their friends, may put themselves at risk for sexually transmitted disease, pregnancy, embarrassing situations, and much more. Also, those who binge drink may be at risk of getting into trouble with student affairs (for conduct violations) and/or the police; 2) transitioning from high school to college/university life can be problematic to some but not others. Think of who may be at risk – perhaps those who have not functioned independently before or those who may have been ‘sheltered' by their parents; 3) some fraternities and sororities have cultures that breed bad behavior as evidenced to some recent headlines in school papers across the United States (while others resist these issues). Think of what are the characteristics of a ‘bad' frat or sorority and think of what allows a bad Greek culture to get worse. Compare this to a ‘healthy' fraternity or sorority culture.
