Of the various factors found in RESPECT, which are the three most important functions that the supervisor must perform?

What will be an ideal response?

Main points: There are seven items, but the ones that are performed most often are reporting, evaluation, and planning.

For reporting, the supervisor is the "go between" for officers and higher command staff. He or she gives information for both areas. Orders must be communicated and then refined for operational activity. Accurate and up-to-date information is vital.

In evaluation, the supervisor is constantly evaluating both situations and the performance of subordinates. This includes inspections of equipment but also of behavior that includes habits in terms of performing daily tasks.

We include planning as this runs the span of short- and long-range planning such as scheduling, assignments and things that need to be addressed for future considerations. This is particularly important for policy development and implementation.
