How should a motorcycle be prepared for long term storage? Include procedures for prepping the fuel tank, cylinders and carburetors.
What will be an ideal response?
To prepare a motorcycle for storage you should replace the engine oil and filter, fill the cooling system with the correct ratio of coolant, fill the tank with fuel and add fuel stabilizer, drain the float bowls and run the engine with the enrichners on to use up any fuel left in the carburetors. Then remove the sparkplugs and pour a teaspoon of oil into each plug holes. Crank the engine over a few times to disperse the oil. Cover the bike and store it in a dry area.
