Explain the difference between a chromosome, a gene, and an allele.
What will be an ideal response?
A chromosome contains gene; so genes are located on chromosomes. Genes are sequences of DNA that code for a protein. Each gene has two alleles, or two sites carrying information to make a protein; alleles for a given gene can be identical (homozygous) or different (heterozygous).
