What are the core assumptions for validation and trust in PGP?

What will be an ideal response?

In PGP, and in the web of trust model in general, two core assumptions exist for validation and trust:
1. User validates certificates, with public key, by any mean available within the community. When Alice accepts a certificate from Bob, it is assumed that she has used any means available-calling Bob, meeting Bob in person, comparing hash of certificate file, and so on-to validate the certificate.
2. User trusts other users in the web of trust. When the web of trust becomes very large, an individual user cannot personally validate all the certificates in the network. Thus, for the web of trust to work, a user must trust that other users will validate certificates that are connected to them directly.
