Compare the key differences between microevolution and macroevolution.

Microevolution is measured as changes in the allele frequency of a population over generations. We can use Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium to measure microevolution. This is also something we can observe in our lifetimes. Macroevolution involves the splitting of one species into two or more species. This is a process that takes long periods of time to occur. We often use fossil evidence to support the macroevolution of species.
