Identify the action steps that can be taken in this case
What will be an ideal response?
ANS: Students' answers will vary. In identifying action steps, you and clients use information gained and hypotheses generated during the exploration and assessment phases. We foster a creative, brainstorming atmosphere and use the skills of questioning, seeking clarification, reflecting, going beyond, and seeking feedback to generate possible tasks. As a collaborative partner in the process, you may also share your own professional knowledge and experience. Indeed, several evidence-based practice approaches include specific intervention activities, exercises, or techniques that often serve as excellent action steps. The explanatory and change-oriented hypotheses generated during assessment often suggest action steps that logically flow from a "theory of the case." Nonetheless, critical thinking is needed even when one or more action steps logically follow from both the research literature and your explanatory and change-oriented hypotheses.
