Compare and contrast occupational crime with common street crime.
What will be an ideal response?
Occupational crime differs from common street crime only in that it is committed by people in a position to do so--Medicaid fraud can typically only be committed by physicians, and bank embezzlement by bank employees in positions of trust. The motives of occupational criminals are the same as those of street criminals--to obtain benefits quickly with minimal effort--and the age, sex, and racial profiles of occupational criminals are not that much different from those of street criminals.
