Summarize the main points of gene–environment interaction and gene–environment correlation.

What will be an ideal response?

Gene–environment interaction and gene–environment correlation describe people’s active transactions with their environment. Gene–environment interaction involves the common sense notion that people are differentially sensitive to identical environmental influences and will thus respond in different ways to them. For instance, a relatively fearless and impulsive child is more likely to seize opportunities to engage in antisocial behavior than is a fearful and constrained child. Gene–environment correlation (rGE) means that genotypes and the environments they find themselves in are related.
