Describe the link, if one exists, between employee engagement and organizational performance.

What will be an ideal response?

Employee engagement occurs when employees find meaning or an attachment to
their work, which naturally results in good feelings and even passion about what they
do. This leads to a higher level of performance and a reluctance to quit, leading to better
performance and lower turnover in the organization. The link between employee
engagement and organizational performance is strong and has been repeatedly
demonstrated by research. For one, ethical issues are reduced because engaged
employees are more likely to report them, leading to solutions. Studies have shown that
companies with very high levels of employee engagement show higher levels of
profitability, sales, and lower levels of absenteeism and product defects.
