What is the difference between hypotheses of qualitative and quantitative research?
Are there any differences?
Quantitative research hypotheses cannot prove relationships between variables. They can emerge from a theory, offer direction and suggest explanations for relationships, and reduce the possibility that false results will be misinterpreted. They facilitate the interpretation of data.
Qualitative research on the contrary itself is a subjective interpretation. If individual studies have different methods, it may be difficult to find common ground and to devise a meaningful interpretation of the results. In qualitative research, multiple valid interpretations may occur if different researchers examine the text. The raw data are not available to the qualitative meta-synthesizer.
