Describe the dermal tissue system

What will be an ideal response?

Dermal tissues cover and protect the entire plant body. In a young plant, this is a simple epidermis, and may be impregnated with a waterproofing cuticle. Some epidermal tissues have tiny hairs or trichomes. Many plants only have an epidermis, and they are considered herbaceous. In woody plants, the epidermis is replaced by bark or periderm, which is much thicker and complex in structure.
