Review a deed to real property. You can use one from your home, your family’s, a friend’s, or get a random deed from the local land records. One is provided for your use immediately following this chapter as well. Determine how the property is held and how that affects the ownership rights of the parties involved.

What will be an ideal response?

I suggest that the instructor obtain random deeds from the local clerk’s office for those students that cannot obtain one themselves. Reading deeds is very instructive and I find that this project will serve them well. Clients often bring deeds with them for appointments and really do not understand how their property is held.
