Discuss the dynamic equilibrium model and the concept of geomorphic threshold
What will be an ideal response?
The dynamic equilibrium model is based on the idea of landscape formation being balance between endogenic and exogenic forces. During a destabilizing event, a landform system may arrive at a geomorphic threshold, where the system lurches to a new system state. The steps of the dynamic equilibrium model are 1. equilibrium and stability with slow continuous change; 2. some form of dramatic event; and 3. a period of recovery to a new equilibrium.
