Perform a resistance check of the compressor section, including the fan motor. SAFETY PRECAUTION: The compressor may be grounded (may have a circuit to the case of the compressor), and it could be dangerous to try to start it. Be sure to isolate the compressor circuit before condemning the compressor. Take the motor leads off the compressor to check for a ground circuit in the compressor.
