Difference between scientific theory and law

What will be an ideal response?

A scientific theory is when an experiment or hypothesis has been tested multiple times and you will get the same results. A law describes in detail how something happens. A law does not tell us why something happens. The cell theory states that all living things are composed of one or more cells, the cell is the basic unit of life, and new cells can arise from previously existing cells. The cell theory is not explaining how something happens in detail, it makes a statement that is still held true today.
