Student should mention and discuss the following steps at a minimum: (1) job analysis is the cornerstone of the entire selection process. (2) Selection of one or more relevant, sensitive, and practical criteria are selected. (3) One or more predictors (e.g., measures of aptitude, ability, personality) are selected that presumably bear some relationship to the criterion or criteria to be predicted. (4) Assessing the predictor–criterion relationship, potentially through a predictive criterion-related validation study, once predictor measures have been selected, they are then administered to all job applicants.
