Discuss how the evolution of jawed fishes and other predatory creatures affected the marine ecosystem. What will be an ideal response?

The development of jaws was a major evolutionary advance because jawed fish could chew
food and become active predators, opening new ecologic niches. Natural selection favored
organisms that could protect themselves, or hide, from these predators.
