Describe Maslow's hierarchy of needs and how it can relate to you as a college student
What will be an ideal response?
According to Maslow's theory, basic needs to be met first. If I don't have money to pay for rent or room and board, it will be difficult for me to focus on school. I also need to feel safe. If I'm worried about safety issues, I will also have difficulty focusing on school and achieving my goals. It is then important for me to belong. Joining a club or being a part of a team or organization can help me strive toward my goals. Finally, I need to feel good about myself and my accomplishments in order to strive for self-actualization which is realizing my potential.
