Briefly describe the concept of "due process." Use at least one example to illustrate a teacher's right to due process

While schools do have limited power over teachers, teachers' rights to due process cannot be violated. Teachers, like all citizens, are protected from being treated arbitrarily by those in authority. For example, a teacher cannot be dismissed for "poor" performance without ample documentation that the performance was, in fact, poor and without sufficient time to meet clearly stated performance evaluation criteria.
