A student who chooses science might emphasize how learning in the life sciences teaches children about living things including their own bodies and the plants and animals around them. Learning in the physical sciences advances children’s understanding of physical properties such as gravity and teaches about energy, weather, and the seasons. Learning about technology develops logic and understanding of systems, whereas learning about math gives them ways of organizing and understanding what they experience. Students who choose engineering might emphasize the critical thinking and problem-solving skills it develops.
