Describe two processes for priming the oil system of a new engine.
What will be an ideal response?
One method involves the use of a pressurized container of oil that is attached to the engine in place of the oil sender. The pressurized container will push oil throughout the engine prior to starting. A second way uses a priming rod that drives the oil pump with a handheld drill. With either method, oil pressure should be monitored with a gauge and the engine primed for about 1 minute after pressure has come up on the gauge.
