Describe the dramaturgical approach to understanding group interaction

What will be an ideal response?

Much social interaction depends on how we wish to impress those who may be watching us. Life is often separated into a "front stage"--the part that we wish people to see--and a "back stage"--that part which we keep hidden from view. Behavior on the "front stage" is designed to convey a particular impression to those who may be watching. "Back stage" interaction may be much different from that which is presented to the viewing "public."
