Explain the difference between fighting and rough and tumble play.

Rough and tumble play consists of laughing, running, smiling, jumping, open-hand beating, wrestling, play fighting, chasing, and fleeing. In real fighting, no laughing and smiling occur. Usually the beating is with closed fists and kicking may also be a part. One child is exerting power over another with injury.
