Discuss why it is important to evaluate implementation fidelity. Be sure to explain the role of social validity ratings.
What will be an ideal response?
It’s important to evaluate implementation fidelity because those who work with that student need to stick to the plan. Lots of time and effort have been put into figuring out what the educators can do in order to help that child achieve more success in their time at school. Social validity plays a large role into the implementation fidelity. Social validity focuses on if the desired replacement behavior reflects socially accepted practices. In simpler terms, it’s up to the people involved to decide if they believe that the intervention for that student/child is socially valid.
