How does the central dogma serve as the basis of modern genetics?
Drag the terms on the left to the appropriate blanks on the right to complete the sentences.
Ans:
The central dogma is flow of information/message/ instruction from DNA to protein. The mRNA is formed from DNA by the process known as TRANSCRIPTION and protein/polypeptide is formed from these mRNA by the process TRANSLATION.
Though modern genetics says that not always mRNA is formed from DNA as per cell need rRNA and tRNA is also coded which do not lead to formation of polypeptide chain. The basis is still central dogma. in the process of gene expression information from gene is used to form a functional unit.
Fill up tha blanks---
DNA stores the genetic information and serves as the template for its own reproduction (replication) and for the production of RNA copies (transcription). These copies carry the genetic information to be used for the synthesis of protein(s) (translation) .
