In general a histogram is skewed to the left when the median is greater than the mean and to the right when the median is less than the mean. There are exceptions to this rule, however. Consider the following data set:

a. Compute the mean and median.
b. Based on the mean and median, would you expect the data set to be skewed to the left, skewed to the right, or approximately symmetric? Explain.
