Human capital refers to the education and training that a person brings to the job? it is

the source of the person's productivity. Applying this model, women earn less because

of the choices they make. They may leave employment for childbearing and child care

and find that when they return to employment, their skills have atrophied, which causes

them to earn less. This model pertains to the functionalist perspective.
