What is the significance of the H and X terminals in a transformer?
What will be an ideal response?
In all transformers, the H terminals are always the high-voltage terminals. The X terminals are always the low-voltage terminals. Either the H or X terminals can be designated as the primary or secondary, depending on which is the source and which is the load and whether the transformer is used as a step-up or step-down transformer.

Air is located in a piston-cylinder device. Initially, the air is 20oC and the pressure is 200 kPa, while the volume is 0.1 m3.
(a) The air is heated at constant pressure until the volume is 0.3 m3. Determine the heat transfer for the process. (b) For the same initial conditions, use your piston-cylinder device model to generate data, and plot the heat transferred for an isobaric expansion to volumes ranging from 0.15 m3 to 0.50 m3. Given: Air; T1 = 20oC = 293 K; P1 = P2 = P = 200 kPa; V1 = 0.1 m3; V2 = 0.3 m3 Assume: Air behaves as an ideal gas with variable specific heats (expect a large temperature change): R = 0.287 kJ/kg-K; ?KE = ?PE = 0.
All of these statements about wheel rims are true EXCEPT:
A. Wheel rims must position the tires at the proper distance inward or outward from the vertical wheel mounting surface. B. A wheel rim with a positive offset has the center of the tire positioned inboard from the vertical wheel mounting surface. C. A wheel rim with a neutral offset has the center of the tire positioned at the vertical center of the brake rotor. D. A wheel rim with a negative offset has the center of the tire positioned outboard from the vertical wheel mounting surface.
