By July 1965, information was available on the career progress of 125 college and 144 noncollege individuals originally assessed (all of them were men). The criterion data included management level achieved and current salary. The predictive validities of the assessment staff’s global predictions were .44 for college and .71 for noncollege employees. Of the 38 college individuals who were promoted to middle-management positions, 31 (82%) were identified correctly by the AC staff. Likewise, 15 (75%) of the 20 noncollege ones who were promoted into middle management were identified correctly. Finally, of the 72 (both college and noncollege) who were not promoted, the AC staff correctly identified 68 (94%).
