This woman has Hodgkin's disease (HD) as evidenced by a mixed cellular infiltrate containing binucleate Reed-Sternberg cells. The thymus is a common site of presentation of HD. It is a disease that often occurs in young adults. Most patients respond very well to chemotherapy and HD can be cured in 75% of those who have this subtype of disease (nodular sclerosis).
