The three modes of persuasion, according to Aristotle, are ethos, pathos, and logos.
Ethos is a speaker's credibility and is derived from his or her reputation and character. Pathos
is emotional appeal that calls upon the values and feelings of the audience. Finally, logos refers
to logical appeal made through argumentation.
