Describe two explanations for the g factor in intelligence
What will be an ideal response?
The g factor refers to the observation that people who do well on a test of one cognitive ability generally do well on other types of cognitive tests also. One explanation is that all cognitive tests measure (in part) a single underlying ability, such as working memory. Another explanation is that we have many cognitive abilities, but the factors (such as health and nutrition) that promote good development of any one ability also promote the development of the other abilities.
