LGBT students are frequent targets of taunting, bullying, and even physical violence. Much harassment and bullying takes place on social media where anonymity allows for the expression of outrageous and hurtful insults, threats and accusations. Teachers and educators need to express zero tolerance for all harassment and bullying but especially for the targeting of LGBT students because they receive a disproportionate share.
