What is a frequency analysis?
What will be an ideal response?
In a frequency analysis you count the number of times each symbol appears in the message. A frequency analysis is helpful because the frequencies of the letters in the alphabet are well known, with E appearing most often, followed by T, A, O, I, N, S, and so on. If the encrypted symbol X shows up most often during a frequency analysis, it may represent an E in the original message.
