Explain what it means to run RIP in passive mode.
What will be an ideal response?
When RIP daemon on a host receives RIP response message through the local network, it reconstruct its routing table based on the routing information gathered. After that, if there is any update, RIP can propage this information to send the routing information to outgoing network interface (this outgoing interface can be the same of the incoming interface which just receives the updated routing information or not by the configuration). But, in passive mode, it doesn't send the routing information. Just update host's routing information receiving the RIP response message which contains routing update information.
