Compare and contrast Bergeron Process with the Collision-Coalescence Process
What will be an ideal response?
The Bergeron Process is applicable to cold clouds where super cooled water droplets and ice crystals collect water vapor. The ice crystals grow until they are large enough to reach the ground as either snow or rain without evaporating. In contrast, the Collision-Coalescence Process is applicable to warm clouds where water droplets grow on hygroscopic particles and impacts with other, smaller droplets until they become large enough to reach the ground as rain without evaporating.
