How are social factors related to suicide? The two main social factors are social connectedness and stressful life event.

What will be an ideal response?

Two social factors include social connectedness and stressful life events.

Stressful life events include financial stressors, the development of a functional impairment due to illness, loss of vision or hearing, and any other change in the older adult’s life that threatens independence. The combination of declining physical health with the loss of friends and family members can present a seemingly insurmountable challenge to older adults. Lack of Social connected ness involves losses of friends and family, often leaving older adults alone and lonely social isolation seems to be an important factor to address.
