What is the goal of neurofeedback training?

What will be an ideal response?

“To teach the individual what specific states of cortical arousal feel like and how to activate such states voluntarily. For example, during neurofeedback training the EEG is recorded and the relevant components are extracted and fed back to the individual using an online feedback loop in the form of audio, visual or combined audio/visual information”. Neurofeedback is based on operant conditioning and reinforcement of changes in the neuronal structure or brain waves.
