Explain the authority granted to an agent in different types of powers of attorney

What will be an ideal response?

A power of attorney gives the agent the authority to sign legal documents on behalf of the principal. Many states allow powers of attorney for both business and health care purposes. In the latter kind of power of attorney, the principal designates in writing an individual (agent) who will act for the principal in the event of a serious illness that renders the principal mentally incompetent to make decisions concerning his or her own medical care. The agent is usually given the authority to make such decisions in consultation with physicians. The power of attorney for business purposes may be a general document that gives the agent broad powers to act on the principal's behalf, or it may be a more limited document that authorizes the agent to act only in matters enumerated in the agreement.
