Is a short or a long PID recommended for use in occlusal radiography?

What will be an ideal response?

A short (8 inch [20.5 cm]) PID is recommended. The shorter PID may make it easier to position into the increased vertical angulations used in occlusal radiography. In addition, because of the increased image receptor-object distance, use of a longer PID would add to the dimensional distortion.
