Explain the concept of the Industrial Revolution as the Great Transformation. What were some of the key elements of this transformation?

Karly Planyi coined the term Great Transformation to refer to the global changes brought on by the Industrial Revolution. By this he meant that goods, land and labor took on a standardized monetary value, relationships based on contracts, the domination of the corporate form, the selling of labor for wages and the spread of political rights and equality.
