How do wire material and diameter affect resistance?
What will be an ideal response?
Different types of material have different wire resistances. A copper conductor will have less resistance than an aluminum conductor of the same size and length. An aluminum conductor will have less resistance than a piece of iron wire the same size and length. The larger the diameter, the less resistance it will have. The diameter of a wire is measured in mils. One mil equals 0.001 inch. The circular mil area of a wire is the diameter of the wire in mils squared.
