How did continental glaciations affect areas far away from ice sheets? What were some of these effects? What will be an ideal response?
Areas distant from glaciers had varied climates. Lower ocean temperatures reduced
evaporation rates, so most of the world was drier than present day. Some areas now arid were
much wetter during the Ice Age. The expansion of the cold belts at high latitudes compressed
the temperate, subtropical, and tropical zones toward the equator.
