Describe the fluid movement in the rack piston chamber in a rack and pinion steering gear during a left turn.

What will be an ideal response?

Fluid pressure is directed from the spool valve and rotary valve to the left side of the rack piston, and fluid is released from the right side of this piston. Fluid pressure on the left side of the rack piston moves the rack to the right to complete the left turn.
