SPARC, which stands for Scalable Processor Architecture, is a RISC processor designed by Sun Microsystems. SPARC CPUs have gone through many incarnations, and the RISC processor is the most popular on the market today. The SPARC M7 from Oracle is the current version of the SPARC processor. It is a 64-bit chip with 64-bit address and data buses. The SPARC M7 contains 32 cores, runs at speeds up to 4.1 GHz, and has an L3 cache of 64 MB.
