Compare and contrast the differences and similarities for preparing a speech to inform and a speech to persuade.

What will be an ideal response?

The general purpose for each presentation is different, either to inform or to persuade. The informative speech seeks to convey new information and increase the audience’s understanding about a topic. The persuasive presentation seeks to change, alter, or modify an audience’s attitudes, beliefs, values, or outlook about a topic. Regardless of the general purpose, all speeches should research, organize, conduct audience analysis, and prepare similarly.
