List the characteristics of the following groups and identify examples for each: Archaea, Bacteria, and Eukarya. What will be an ideal response?

Answers will vary, but should include the following at a minimum. In contrast to Bacteria,
Archaea do not have peptidoglycan in their cell walls. The plasma membrane of both
Bacteria and Eukarya have straight chain fatty acids linked to glycerol molecules by ester
linkages. Archaea are more like Eukarya because they do not have simple RNA polymerase .
Like Eukarya, Archaea translation begins with methionine. Both Archaea and Bacteria lack
the membrane organelles of Eukarya.
Archaea example is Methanospirillum hungata.
Bacteria example is Escherichia coli.
Eukarya example is Plasmodium falciparum.
